At PromoPress we believe that media relations is a win-win game: We help the journalists getting their story and they help us/our clients, giving them exposure they need. We practice our relationship with the media every day, if we can be useful we will... because it's fun (and very useful). Actually, we collect journalists, as many as possible, of all kinds. Writers, photographers, TV producers, editors... When we accept an assignment we do so because we are convinced that it can be made -or already is- newsworthy. Obviously we do not work on assignments if we have any doubts at all regarding the possibilities for success. We try to avoid press-conferences, not because we don't know how to set them up and get an attendance but because we try to individualize as much as possible for each media, thus getting a much bigger coverage for the subject we work on. Preferably we go for exclusive interviews. Sure, it's much more work, but the result is worth it. Of course, sometimes the subject is so "big and hot" that we have to start with a pressconference and then handle the V.I.M.'s (Very Important Mediacontacts) apart. We can travel and as our
